Prepping

I’m getting antsy… so I must organize.
I get it, it’s the 4th of July, a day off of work where everyone wants to blow things up. But, not me. Not only is too damned hot to spend time outside, but there just isn’t any good fireworks shows around here. And I have zero interest in driving any real distance and dealing with people. Yuck. The boyfriend went to see the new “Indiana Jones” with his kids and dad, my daughter made plans to do the fireworks thing with Amanda and her family, so I decided to go to my parents.
In about a month, my studio will be ready to set up, but I’m already getting antsy. There really isn’t anything more that I can do in there, so I have to settle with prepping. I’ve taken anything that I would consider “messy” to my parents, as well as things that require a lot of room to set up. I’ve also taken anything that I had extras and double of, and all of my finished jewelry pieces. I spent my afternoon organizing all my tubs and boxes to prep for moving into the studio. I also rearranged how my jewelry stands are set up. It was more work than I expected… and I loved every minute of it. Yeah, I know, I’m weird. That’s kind of a given at this point. All I have left to do is double check the measurements of all my paintings, determine if they need additional varnish, and apply hanging hardware on them or put them in a frame.
I feel accomplished.
