Longest day ever

This has been the longest day ever.

My day started by getting ready and packing for my short trip. Yes, I know, I was supposed to do it last night. I didn’t feel like it. Then I headed to the airport for my 9:55am flight. At least I wasn’t flying alone. My co-worker, flew with me. It was not the best flight. I had a great conversation with her, but that was the end of the pleasant. First, there were two little kids behind us. One kept grabbing her hair, the other reached around the seat and kept grabbing my sweater, then they both continuously banged on the back of the sleep. It’s only a little over an hour flight, but still. Half way through, without warning, we hit a bad patch of turbulence. We FINALLY made it.

Then it was trying to get an Uber. That took way too long. We got to our hotel, checked into our rooms, then walked over to our office. Neither one of us had eaten, so we got lunch and returned just in time for our 3 hour meeting to discuss 2023. Another co-worker drove us to our team holiday dinner, and that’s when things finally settled down.

Dinner was great. We went to a nice Italian restaurant and the food was amazing. Turns out that the manager is the husband of another co-worker, so we got two plates of appetizers on the house. After some great conversations, and even better dessert, it was time to return to the hotel.

Of course, I couldn’t sleep. Shocker. I did, however, bring my watercolor pencils. It was my first time using them. I prefer the pens, but these were still fun. I painted/drew this while watching “Lady Chatterly’s Lover” on Netflix… which was… um…. interesting. Good thing my daughter wasn’t there with me.

Now, if only I can get to sleep, especially since I have a 7:25am flight in the morning.
