Where did the last decade go?

The old saying that the older you get, the more quickly time goes, is absolutely true. The boyfriend and I are just two weeks away from our 10th anniversary. Nothing drives home how long we’ve been together than by the fact we had his son’s graduation dinner tonight. I met this boy when he was just 8 years old. Small. Quiet. Playing with super hero toys. Now, he’s 18. No longer small. Still quiet. Playing COD on the PS5. It’s only when I look at the kids and realize that they’re not really kids anymore, that I actually grasp just how quickly time has gone by. It’s even scarier to know that the girls will be graduating in just two more years.

God, I’m getting old.
