Catching up

Yesterday was bad. Today is a minuscule better.

Today was my only “in the office” day. I left with a giant monitor for home. I didn’t realize that they ordered me such a large screen, so I had to spend an obscene amount of time trying to rearrange everything on my desk to fit it… the desk my Grandpa Overton built BEFORE there were home computers. So, needless to say, it was a struggle.

I also had to catch up on all that I let go yesterday. I was mentally and physically exhausted. I still am.

This painting had to be quick. It’s a simple 8”x8” painting with mixed media (craft, gouche, and regular acrylic paint) and made using pallet knives. I love the combo of colors and the expression of wanting to be in a calm space, yet it’s still chaotic - which is how I feel.

I can’t wait until this year is done.
