It was an arts and crafts kind of day.
The day started late, because I woke up late. My insomnia is back. However, I did wake up refreshed, so there’s that. Around noon, the kiddo and I went to pick up Amanda and her daughter for an artsy day at my parents. We started with a quick trip to Michaels, where I bought more than I went in for… but, come one… SALE. I had to.
We then made the 30 minute drive to my parents’ town, where we immediately stopped by the local burger stop. This place has been around since my dad was a kid. It’s a town staple, and SO good! We grabbed our food, food for my parents, and headed over to their place. After an amazing chicken sandwich, fries, and a blackberry milkshake, Amanda’s kiddo and I began to set up our craft station.
She wanted to learn how to work with resin. I brought out my tub of materials, set up so we didn’t make a mess on my dad’s brand new floors, and proceeded to spend the next few hours making ornaments and jewelry. I also took the time to apply resin to a few art pieces that I’ve been meaning to do. All the while, Amanda and my kiddo sat in the other room, reading.
It was a good day.
