Can you get hearing loss from listening to too many audio book via noise canceling headphones?

I’m on a serious Audible bender. Like, SERIOUS. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that it’s triggered my hyper-fixation, because I’m listening to many types of books by various authors. But I’m going through roughly one book a day.

I’ve always been an avid reader. Since my first real novel - White Fang by Jack London when I was 12 - books have been a way to escape my reality. Mostly, I listen/read fiction. There are times where I have gotten into autobiographies such as Maynard James Keenan, Chelsea Handler, and Penn Jillette, to name a few. There’s been times when I’ve been really into self-help and inspirational books such as Simon Sinek and Brené Brown. Sometimes, I’ll get into non-fiction like Richard Dawkins, and anything by Stephen Fry,

If you were to look at my entire Audible library (which, on a side note, is quite large since I’ve been a member since 2012), you would think that my favorite book genre would be adult paranormal. Books that involve vampires, werewolves, dragons, and witches that have some (or a lot) of spice, seem to be what I gravitate towards. I’ll listen to anything by Molly Harper, Jeanine Frost, or Laura Thalassa, It also doesn’t hurt that their narrators are amazing… I bow down at the feet of Tavia Gilibert and Amanda Ronconi. A VERY close second is anything to do with Greek Mythology. My favorite book, hands down, no competition is “Song of Achilles” by Madeline Miller… who, on another side note, needs to finish her Persephone book before I die, because I’ve all but given up on George R.R. Martin finishing Song of Fire and Ice. Lately, however, I’ve been on a spicy book kick… and I’m not talking about food. This week I’ve discovered T.L. Swan, and all I have to say is… HOT DAMN!

My ears are burning for more than one reason.
