Too fast

She’s in love.
My daughter has had complicated feelings about boys. She’s only had a couple of boyfriends, and they haven’t lasted long. She loves the chase, but once she has them, she doesn’t want them. She doesn’t want them to touch her, she feels smothered, and annoyed with them… except for this boy.
She’s been seeing him for a few weeks. I knew, almost immediately, that this one was different. When she says his name, she smiles and blushes… my daughter doesn’t blush. She giggles… my daughter doesn’t giggle. She’s giddy… my daughter isn’t giddy. I don’t know if it’s being (almost) 16. I don’t know if it’s the boy. But this one is different. He’s a good kid. He’s polite. He tells her to mind her manners. He treats her like she’s precious… and he’s at my house.
He stayed at my house with her all day. The bf’s son’s gf is also at the house. I wanted to be anywhere but at my house. So I picked up Amanda, and we went shopping. When I got home, I took my daughter’s bf home. On the drive back, she said, “Mom, I think I love him.”
My baby is growing up too fast.
