I had a feeling that my sore throat was strep. I just knew it. By the end of last night, I felt like absolute garbage… but my daughter made me pancakes, so, silver lining. After waking up at 2:30 am because of the dog - turns out he just had an itchy ear, but he’s old and he’s my baby and I’m absolutely terrified of something happening to him - I went online to make a doctor’s appointment at Urgent Care.
A lot of good that did. I went in at 9 am just to have the receptionist tell me that they don’t do appointments (then why is it on the website, Karen?!) and it would be an hour wait… oh, and I have to wait in my car. Dumb. When I FINALLY got called in (they literally called my cell phone), I got my vitals checked, and then told it would be another 45 minutes. Seriously? Throat cultures take, what, 10 minutes? Well, after TWO HOURS, I got confirmation… strep throat.
After picking up my antibiotics, I made it home in time for the first of my AdobeMAX seminar classes. And that’s what I’ve done all day. Sit and watch my computer. There were a couple of presenters that just about put me to sleep.
When my last session was over, I knew that I had to paint at that moment, or I wouldn’t all today. I decided on a paint pour. This canvas is a bit bigger, 9x12, so I filled two of the divider cups. The first one with white, black, silver, and blue to represent feeling rundown. The second cup with red and gray for how raw and red my throat feels.
Let’s hope tomorrow gets better… maybe I can get my kiddo to make me more pancakes.
