I’m so over being sick.

Last night, I wanted pancakes again. This time I decided to order from iHop… bad idea. Against my better judgement, I ordered the blueberry pancakes. I got half way through eating them when they started to taste funny. Upon closer inspection, I notice that middle isn’t cooked. Just blueberries swimming in pancake batter. Well, being the person that I am, I ate around the gooey part.

I really shouldn’t have. About 2 hours after dinner, I started to feel a little icky. I chalked it up to the antibiotics and the strep. Well, let’s just say that I spent the night worshipping the porcelain Gods. It wasn’t pretty. I’m REALLY grateful that I was already scheduled to work from home today.

So, when I decided to paint, two color pallets came to mind. I’ll let you figure out why for yourself. I started with a matte brown layer that was one big swirl. After it dried, I applied some washi tape strips, then blobbed some different greens and a bit of gold. Smooshed in, the swirled it. After, I applied some glitter, because why not, then sprayed it with gloss sealer. When it dried, I pulled the tape off and thought it would be fun to paint some beveled edges. The texture, the mix of gloss and matte, the glitter, and the depth… I really like how this turned out. Even though the colors came from… um… yeah.
