Glad to be home

I am so glad to be home!
It’s been a LONG day. I woke up earlier than my alarm, after an astounding 5 hours of sleep (hey, progress is progress), got ready for work, packed, checked out, went to the office and worked until 3:30 before going back to the hotel for my luggage, taking an Uber to the airport and then flying home, getting my baggage and car and driving the 45 minutes back home. By the time I finally pulled into my driveway, it was just after 9pm. I no sooner pulled my luggage from the trunk before I was practically tackled by my daughter and the dog, then bear hugged by the boyfriend. You’d think I was gone for 4 months, not four days. It’s nice to be missed.
When I was finally able to get my daughter and dog off of me, and able to unpack, I was EXHAUSTED. I got into bed and realized that, not only was sleep not coming, but I had also not done any artwork for the day. My Arteza watercolor pens and pad were right beside me and seemed as good of an option as any.
Delirious from work and travel, this is where my mind went. Just swirls of color and twirly lines.
If the universe is kind, it’ll let me sleep in tomorrow.
