If at first you don’t succeed…

It’s the boyfriend’s birthday. He’s now 49. One last year of us being in the same age decade. We’re going to lunch, but I don’t feel like it. I’ll go, but reluctantly. I’m not even going to shower. The kiddo woke me up at 7:50 am so I could take her and her friend to the gym. She does not appreciate that I was up until 1am painting. Teenagers. I thought I might as well do some grocery shopping while I’m out. At least then, I can feel accomplished.
I did this bad boy twice when we got home. It was one of those where I had an idea before hand. “Hey, let’s have a white background, a rainbow of paint blobs, then run a chain through it for a pretty flower.” What it ended up being was a mess. It’s like the canvas KNEW that that wasn’t how I was truly feeling. So, I washed the paint off (can’t waste a perfectly good canvas), and tried again. The second time, I used a pallet of greens, teals, and just a hint of purple. Added some oil drops to break it up and then used the heat gun to get an even more cracking effect. I’m much happier with the final result.
