I have not left my art desk all day.

Just like yesterday, I didn’t wake up until 11am this morning. I also didn’t go to bed until 2am, That’s still a solid eight hours, so I’m going to take it as a win. Silver lining, right?

After I finally dragged my butt up, I plopped myself down at my art desk and began making jewelry. I’m finding this new endeavor to be relaxing. Several sets of earrings and a few bracelets later, it was 6pm and my daughter was saying goodbye to go to her dad’s for the night. Since it was only the boyfriend and his son, I told them they’re on their own for dinner and went back to my work. When I finally felt I’ve made enough, I painted.

I love working with this alcohol ink. The patterns and gradients it makes. The way that, even if it’s dry, it can still be manipulated by other inks or clear alcohol. Spritzing it with alcohol makes the awesome spotted patterns. If you couldn’t tell by the number of them I’ve made recently, this is my current medium of choice. Only downside, it can really stain the skin. Such as this neon pink spot that I’ve had on my palm since yesterday.

Now, I’m going to make an effort to go to bed at a decent hour.
