Peaceful autumn

The fact that there is an art supply store right by my office is a bad thing... bad for my wallet.
Anyway... during my lunch today, I convinced myself that I needed and new blending brush and blue paint. Specifically, navy blue. Could I just take the multitude of blues I already have and mix colors to create navy? Shut up.
So, after getting a ridiculously overpriced and high calorie Starbucks, I then spend way too much on art supplies. It's for my therapy, so I HAVE to buy it. I said, shut up.
As I drove the 3 minutes back to my office (it’s only three because of the traffic light), I noticed that the trees were finally in their autumn color changing glory. That sight that I’ve longed to see since the first triple digit weather day in this Godforsaken valley. That sight was seared into my brain for the rest of the day. Naturally, I had to express it through art.
This is a larger canvas, 12”x25”, and I used my new blending brush (see, I told you I needed it), to create this layered color effect of what I saw this afternoon.
Not only am I extremely happy with the painting, I’m actually feeling happy in general.
I sure do hope it lasts.
